Verb of the Week
The verb say is unique in English in that the vowel is pronounced differently in the 3rd person of the present simple. Normally, the 'a' in say is pronounced just the same as the 'a' in 'day' but, in the 3rd person he says, it is pronounced like the e in get. The past and participle forms said also have the e (as in get) pronunciation.

The site has also been tested on beta versions of Google Chrome, Opera 9, Safari 2.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8. Feedback from users of other browsers is appreciated. Which browser am I using?

Solution: There can be a number of reasons for this.
(a) User error: Make sure you have no extra blank spaces, capital letters or other typographical errors. Use the search function to check the database entry or look for the verb in the list.
(b) Application limitation: In some cases, there are several right answers but the application will recognise only the one or two most common usages. Use the help buttons to check and compare your answer with the answer(s) accepted by the application. Moreover, many verbs have more than one equivalent. Spanish pegar, for example, can mean hit, strike or stick. Use the search function to check the database entry.
(c) Other: If the problem persists, use the feedback form to notify the webmaster.

In Firefox choose Edit-> Preferences -> Privacy -> Saved Form Information and disable "Save information I enter in web page forms and the search bar".
