Problem: The page does not display properly.
Solution: If you find the page or lines of text breaking up in your browser, try adjusting your default font-size in the preferences menu. verbbusters is optimised for use with the free Firefox Web Browser versions 1.5 or better, at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher. The site has also been tested on Opera 9 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. Feedback from users of other browsers is appreciated. Which browser am I using?

Problem: The page is not working.
Solution: For the site to function correctly, your browser must accept cookies. You also need to have JavaScript enabled. To manage these, look in Edit -> Preferences (Firefox) or Tools -> Options (MSIE)

Problem: My answer is right but it evaluates as wrong.
Solution: There can be a number of reasons for this. (a) User error: Make sure you have no extra blank spaces, capital letters or other typographical errors. Use the search function to check the database entry or look for the verb in the list. (b) Application limitation: In some cases, there are several correct answers but the application will recognise only one or two. For example, a verb like get has the past participle gotten in American English but the application will accept only the form got. Use the help buttons to check and compare your answer with the answer given by the application. Moreover, many verbs have more than one equivalent. Spanish pegar, for example, can mean hit, strike or stick. Use the search function to check the database entry. (c) Other: If the problem persists, use the feedback form to notify the webmaster.

Problem: When I type an answer, I am offered alternatives.
Solution: This is a question of telling your browser not to save the information you enter in forms. In Firefox 1.5, choose Edit-> Preferences -> Privacy -> Saved Form Information and disable "Save information I enter in web page forms and the search bar". The procedure is much the same in Firefox 2.0. If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0, choose Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> Autocomplete and uncheck Forms.
